On Saturday I helped a friend make his ‘65 Chevelle convertible look like a car again so that he could sell it.
We were looking forward to completely rebuilding the car, which he inherited from his dad. But he is moving to Europe and selling his cars. At least we didn’t labor over it, THEN find that he needed to sell it.
So, we put fenders, grille, hood and trunk back on, put the head back on the inline 6 that was about to be pulled and junked, put interior parts back, and pulled the many, many replacement parts back inside. The buyer has a lot of work to do, but is getting a great deal.

He had obtained a 454 to put into it, so, yes.

Should’ve taken taken this to Europe with him.

Houses in European cities are tiny. He put an offer on one with a garage that I’m told barely has room for a typical car , so no room for a Chevelle and all the parts. A nd since the house is so much smaller they wil l likely be using the garage for storage.
I think with everything that has to happen to make the move, he was cutting his losses with the car, but I agree, it has sentimental value, it might have been worth the effort. It occurs to me that it may be because he wouldn’t be able to re-build it the way he wants with a monster motor legally in Europe.
However, he is planning to take almost all of his tools, and he has proclaimed that he WILL have another project car, even if he has to rent garage space somewhere.

What comes to legality of the build the laws are quite different from country to country. Should’ve moved to Sweden or Finland :P.
